A well-known senior and highly respected professional in the field of corporate finance and investment banking in Bangladesh.  He is widely regarded as the benchmark for ethical and structured financial thinking for corporates in the Country.

He has experience of almost four decades of wide ranging experience gained at different leading financial institutions.  He is the founder and only Chairman of Northstar to date.  He has played a pivotal role in corporate introductions and deal origination.

Prior to Northstar, he was a Partner at Asian Tiger Capital Partners, where he advised numerous leading corporates on investment and advisory services.  He was hands on involved in the acquisition by the Chinese consortium acquisition of the 25% stake in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), and critical to obtaining the commercial banking license by an UK NRB consortium.

Previously, he worked for five years as the Managing Director and CEO of SABINCO, a leading DFI with particular focus on project finance and private equity across various sectors including Energy and Infrastructure, Telecoms and Agro-based industries.

Before that he was the General Manager of IDLC Finance, where he headed the Corporate Finance, Structured Finance and Capital Market Divisions.  He was one of the founder management of IDLC.

In particular, he lead 15 debt syndications across various sectors developing the franchise at IDLC making it the market leading syndication house in Bangladesh while he was there.

He is a CFA charter holder, US, one of the first in Bangladesh, and holds an MBA degree from IBA of Dhaka University.
